It’s Raining Fire: A Meteorite and A Purpose?

Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Luke 12:7

On February 15, 2013, a huge meteorite fell out of the sky and exploded over Chelyabinsk, Russia causing fireballs to rain down and injuring over 1000 people. This explosion caused windows to smash and buildings to shake. The falling meteorite was captured on surveillance cameras and broad casted across the world.

As Christians, we could walk around every day in fear of a falling meteorite, but God tells us in His Word not to let worry rule our lives. We are God’s children and He is watching over us. Not a hair on our head is touched without His authority. We do not need to walk around in fear, but instead as brave soldiers on a mission for Christ.

Do you know that God made you to love you? He did not make you to be fearful and timid. He  did not create us to second guess His creation. He made each one of us uniquely so that He could love us uniquely. Bad things may happen. Meteors may rain down from the sky, but God is in control, and He is very interested in what happens in your life. Without God, life makes no sense. Everything (the meteorite) and everyone (you) has a purpose. Without a purpose, we have no hope.

When did you first learn that you were loved by God?

What do you think is your purpose on earth?

Can God use a meteorite to get our attention?
