Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Galatians 6:7 (NIV Version)
Make no mistake about this: You can never make a fool out of God. Whatever you plant is what you’ll harvest. Gal. 6:7 (God’s Word Version)
A recent video became viral of a woman in the Tampa area who was driving down US 41. A man in a truck began tailgating her on this 2 & 4 lane highway. He began driving right on her bumper after a recent rainstorm. This alarmed the woman who continued to drive and keep a close eye on the guy behind her. Eventually the man was able to pass her as the highway opened from other cars. After the man passed the woman, he honked and made a crude gesture. He then passed her, lost control of his vehicle, and slammed into a telephone pole. The lady driver can be heard laughing saying “that’s what you get, all on video” as she had recorded all of these events on her phone.
The lady driver who was “filming while driving” turned out to be a firefighter which is not the ideal situation either. But, what this lady was really saying is , you reap what you sow. If you plant or (sow) green beans, you will not harvest or (reap) corn. What will you reap? Green beans. If you sow road rage across Florida’s highways, what may you reap on Florida’s highways? (Road rage) Is God getting back at us? No. This is the results of our sin.
If you are mean to your sister or brother and sow mean seeds to all those around you, you also will be rewarded with the company of mean people. If you treat your kids and family with a miserable attitude, you may see this same attitude reflecting from their hearts in the near future. We reap what we sow. Let’s make sure that we are sowing seeds of kindness to all those around us. Let’s not let ourselves get involved in yelling, laughing when other people crash, not letting people pass us, talking behind other’s backs, and delighting at the failures of others. We all have our own struggles. Let each person worry about their own struggles. God loves you and wants you to have this same love for others.
