Sharing Your Story

“Be ready at all times to answer anyone who asks you to explain the hope you have in you, but do it with gentleness and respect”. 1 Peter 3:15b (TEV)

There are people on this planet whom ONLY YOU will be able to reach, because of where you live and what God has made you to be. If just one person will be in heaven because of God using you, your life will have made a difference for eternity.

God wants US to share our life message. Your personal testimony is more effective in many ways than a sermon, because unbelievers see pastors as professional salesmen, but see you as a “satisfied customer”, so they may give you more credibility. (Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren) Jesus did not call us to be his “attorneys”, but his “witnesses”. He wants us to stand up and tell others what we have seen Jesus do in our lives.

God can even use children to invite their friends to church to hear the Good News. He also wants His children to tell their friends about Jesus. No one is too young or too old to apply. All applications are welcome.

We may hide behind fear or avoid conflict by not “name dropping”, but King Solomon describes  life as “a vapor”. We need to use each and every opportunity with everyone we meet to share what Christ has done in our life and the life lessons we have learned as followers of Christ.

Colossians 4:5 says “Make the most of your chances to tell others the Good News. Be wise in all your contacts with them.” (LB)

God wants to say something to the world through you.

Question to Consider: As I reflect on my personal story, who does God want me to share it with?
