Your Fair Market Value

Your identity: 1 Peter 2:9-10

“You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”

Have you ever had a yard sale where you placed some of your once most precious treasures out on the front lawn? You carefully priced each item at a value you believed to be fair. However, when someone else picks out the item, the true worth of the item is only what someone else is willing to pay for it. Now, the question is.. what are you worth?

Some of us have very low self-esteem. We may be criticized a lot at home by our spouse, children, family, friends, and co-workers. We have believed the lie that maybe because we are not highlighted on the cover of a magazine that we are not valuable. This is a lie from Satan who wants you to feel less-valued. Look at the verse above. You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. That is how you are described. You are not just valuable, you are priceless!! That is because you are were valuable enough for God to send His Son, Jesus, to die for your sins. 1 Cor. 7:23 say “You were bought for a price”.

What else makes something valuable? The owner of the item. A pair of shoes once owned by Michael Jordan are worth more than any of our old tennis shoes. Remember who our Owner is. That is God. This increases our value because we are owned by the Creator of the world!! You are not defined by your failures, your performance, or your looks. You are valued because of who you are in Christ. Don’t fall for the world’s lies that you are just a tourist passing through this life that has absolutely no purpose but to inhale air. We are royalty and heirs of Christ. We must act like royalty. The world is watching. The Royal families across this world are scrutinized to a higher level. We too, are watched daily. Just when you think no one is looking, remember, that all deeds will one day be exposed. Always represent our Lord even when you think no one sees. God sees our hearts. You are valuable! You are priceless!

How much do you think you are worth?

What deeds in your life would be shocking to others if exposed on TV? Change these actions immediately!

Do you have low self-esteem? If so, ask the Lord to give you the courage to find yourself “valuable”. Don’t believe the lies..

Here Tenth Ave North sings about your worth “You are More”
